* The Other Course Requirements (OCR) are courses  that emphasize Professional Communication or Research & Analytical Methods.

* Any Social Science based course used to satisfy the OCR cannot also be used in satisfying the 48 hours in the Social Science major.

* The completion of a foreign language at the intermediate level (Lang 2040 & 2050)can be substituted for the completion of the OCR requirement.

Unless noted, these may not be your only options. Please check course offerings every semester for additional courses. Please note that you are always responsible for meeting a course prerequisite. See your Academic Counselor for help with questions and understanding your field requirements.

BS in Social Science with Secondary Education Teacher's Certification. Students who earn a Secondary Teacher's Certification in Social Studies will be certified to teach the following social studies subjects in grades 7-12: History, Government, Economics, Geography, Psychology and Sociology.
